Community Safety Officers (CSOs) conduct proactive patrols throughout the community. They collaborate with community groups that prioritize public safety, including the Citizens on Patrol Program and the River East Transcona School Division. CSOs also work closely with other law enforcement agencies such as the RCMP, Winnipeg Police Service, Prairie By-law, and the Department of Transportation.

To reduce crime, CSOs focus on high-visibility patrols in areas experiencing current crime trends. They also conduct by-law investigations and enforce provincial statutes.
