Opening Sunday a hit for East St. Paul Farmers Market

Last Sunday turned out to be a beautiful day, weather-wise and for the season opening of the East St. Paul Farmers Market, which included a dedication of the site to the family that previously farmed there.

Mayor Shelley Hart, along with East St. Paul Couns. Orest Horechko, Brian Duval and Charles Posthumus, dedicated the site, located at 302 Hoddinott Road, to the Kruszelnicki family, specifically Joseph and Anna and their son Harry. The Kruszelnickis moved to Hoddinott Road in 1945 and were market gardeners there into the 2000s.

Kruszelnicki family members were on hand for the dedication, and the market enjoyed brisk business on opening Sunday.

Watch the July newsletter for more information on the opening and the dedication.

The Farmers Market is open every Sunday from 10 am to 2 pm until Oct. 1.
