Public Works Week  – East St. Paul Parks

 

Did you know, East St. Paul is home to 12 parks? Ten of our parks have play structures for our youth to enjoy!

 

·         Silver Springs Park

Built on the site of a former gravel quarry, this site has been reclaimed and transformed into a beautiful park. Picnic Tables and walking paths are throughout the park. Parking is available off of Birds Hill Road.

 

·         Memorial Park

Situated in the heart of East St. Paul, Memorial Park sits on the hill above Silver Springs Park. It features memorial plaques and a monument as well as a play structure.

 

·         Arena & Recreation Complex

This is the largest of the recreation sites in the municipality. The Arena, Banquet Hall, Curling Club, 55+ Activity Center, and the Created 4 Me Day-Care Centre are all at this location. Other amenities include, outdoor hockey fields, a play structure, a skateboard park, Farmers Market site and a basketball court

 

·         Hyland Provincial Park

This provincial park is operated by the municipality and is located along the Red River with access off of Henderson Hwy. Highlights include multiple tennis courts, picnic tables, fire pits, boat launch, dock and bathrooms.

 

·         Bottomley Creek Trail

2.5 km of gravel trails provide walking access along Bottomley Creek. Taking you from Raleigh St. to Henderson Hwy. and Hyland Provincial Park. There is also a trailhead with parking access at Mowat Rd.

 

·         Baseball & Soccer Complex

The municipal Baseball and Soccer Complex is another keystone recreation facility in East St. Paul. Five baseball fields and numerous soccer fields of different sizes can be found here. There is also a play structure, canteen, and bathroom facilities.

 

·         Benham Soccer Fields

The Benham Soccer Fields are located close to the Baseball and Soccer Complex but are devoted fully to soccer fields. Large tournaments can be held as many fields are available.

 

·         Benham Soccer Fields

This 7.5 acre park is in the Elkhart subdivision and has a play structure and lots of open areas for soccer.

  

·         Glengarry Park

A quiet and peaceful park that is tucked in behind local households has an amazing play structure and lots of open space. Access from Clydesdale Dr. or Orkney Drive.

 

·         Hugh McDonald Park

This park has a large play structure and play area. A monument and Basketball Court are also onsite. The park fronts onto Hugh McDonald Dr. but has pathway access from Claymore Place and Applecross Drive.

 

·         JK Park

This small park started as an access path between Chase Dr. to Birchwood Crescent, there are many mature oak trees and a play structure hidden along the path. The park provides easier walking access to schools that are located to the west.

 

·         Mowat Park

This cozy park is accessed off of Mowat Road in the Pritchard Farm Subdivision. It is also situated in the middle of the over four kilometres of walking paths that run along the ponds and water features in the Pritchard Farm subdivision. A small play structure is located here.

 

·         Southlands Park

Southlands Park is a local park located off of Southlands Drive in the Southlands Subdivision, there is a play structure onsite and has access to the Southlands walking path across the street.

 

·         Deerledge Park

This park is located at a crossroads of multiple walking paths in the Pritchard Farm subdivision. There is a play structure nestled among rolling hills and open grass.

 

·         Countryside Park

The Countryside development is home to one of the newest parks in East St. Paul and features a play structure with pathway access off of Maxwell King Drive and Saddleridge Lane. There is also a tot lot located adjacent to Willowside Bend and both play areas are connected through the pathway system along the naturalized ponds.
